EDEN, N.C. — Loparex, a global producer of release liners and engineered films, will close its Eden, NC facility, resulting in 91 layoffs.
The closure will happen over the next six months.
The company said the reduction in workforce will happen in two phases with the first phase scheduled for May 1, 2024, and the second phase for September 1, 2024. A handful of positions will stay at the Eden site to maintain the facility.
"This decision was a difficult one and has been given significant thought and consideration," Loparex CEO Rich Holder said.
The company will offer all affected employees resources to support their transition to new employment.
Loparex has manufacturing sites in Hammond, Wisconsin and Iowa City, Iowa.
