Jeff Brooks with Duke Energy said wind helped reduce and increase the outages they were dealing with.
“I would say that the wind this morning helped to keep some accumulations off of tree limbs and that helped to reduce outages," Brooks said. "As the day progressed and icing conditions set in on the limbs, the wind has created new outages as those heavy limbs are pushed to the extremes.”
Brooks says you can report an outage with Duke Energy by texting OUT to 57801 or calling 1-800-POWERON.
