LEXINGTON, N.C. -- Lightning damaged a historic church in Davidson County, N.C.
Lexington fire crews say lightning struck the steeple of Jersey Baptist Church. It happened around noon on Monday as thunderstorms moved through the area. The church is located on Jersey Church Road in Lexington.
A church employee was inside the building when it happened, but she was not injured.
Church leaders say they plan to have the steeple repaired.
