GREENSBORO, N.C. — Lidl US is one of the nation’s top-ranked grocers and will open its newest store in Greensboro, North Carolina on Wednesday, June 28.
The store will be located at 3005 Martinsville Road and will be the company's 28th store in North Carolina.
Triad leaders will welcome Lidl to the Greensboro community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony starting at 7:40 a.m.
The store will open at 8:00 a.m. and the first 100 customers in line will receive a special gift card that ranges from $5 to $100 each.
The last event of the day will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. where shoppers can sample Lidl’s award-winning selection and receive special giveaways.
The new store will create more than 30 new jobs, with a starting pay of $15 per hour and extensive benefits for all store associates.
Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughn said she is looking forward to Lidl's opening.
"Lidl has an incredible reputation for its shopping experience and we're excited to welcome them to Greensboro," said Mayor Vaughan. "Greensboro is seeing unprecedented growth and it's important to offer affordable, quality groceries to our community."
Starting June 28th, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
