LEXINGTON — A Lexington woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly embezzling money from Davis-Townsend Elementary School PTO when she was treasurer.
Lynn Marie Johnson is believed to have used the PTO's debit card to spend a little more than $1,000 on herself when she was the organization's treasurer during the 2015-2016 school year. A more specific amount wasn't given by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
The new treasurer found several suspicious charges on the card and the DCSO investigation showed Johnson had made purchases between August 2015 and June 2016.
Johnson, 37, was released under a $5,000 bond and has a Feb. 6, 2017 court date.
