GREENSBORO, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a house fire in the southern part of Greensboro Thursday morning.
The call came in sometime after 8 a.m. on Alderwood Drive.
Several people reported seeing smoke coming from the Wendover Avenue and I-73 area. Guilford Metro 911 confirmed it was from this house fire.
Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire officials said four adults and a child were out of the house.
One adult was taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
Officials said the fire was under control within 20 minutes.
Crews from Piedmont Natural Gas were also on the scene due to a gas leak at the house. They were able to cut the gas line off.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
