Money approved for John Deere expansion in Kernersville, company looks to bring 150+ jobs

The county agreed to give the company nearly a million dollars to manufacture a new John Deere facility in Kernersville.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Forsyth County commissioners approved money to try enticing John Deere to expand.

The county agreed to give the company nearly a million dollars for a new manufacturing site in Kernersville.

Last summer, the company announced plans to set up an electric power-train site in the county.

This new facility would build small excavators, which is unrelated to the new facility announced last August to build batteries and chargers.

If John Deere agrees, more than 150 jobs will be created by 2030.
