Former Triad Stage building to be purchased by group of local investors

More details about the vision and plans for the space will be announced in the new year.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A group of local investors with ties to the arts community will buy the former Triad Stage building, Downtown Greensboro, Inc. announced Monday.

Triad Stage closed its doors in June after 20 years in downtown Greensboro.

Downtown Greensboro, Inc. said the new team of owners wants to bring a creative vibe back to Elm Street in this historic building.

“The revival and reimagination of this unique cultural asset in the heart of Greensboro is an important social investment for our community and our future,” said Zack Matheny, President & CEO of Downtown Greensboro, Inc. “We appreciate the vision and leadership of the local ownership group and are excited about the opportunity to revitalize this fixture for the arts in our community.”

Matheny said the venue will remain an arts hub with multiple acts, including live music. More details about the vision and plans for the space will be announced in the new year.

DGI said the new Triad Stage will join a growing arts scene in Greensboro, complementing the nearby Tanger Center and Carolina Theatre.
