RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were arrested in Randolph County after fleeing South Carolina following an alert about them being murder suspects.

On Friday, an alert out of York County, South Carolina, was given to agencies in the area regarding homicide suspects who had fled South Carolina going north I-85 and were believed to be in the area of exit 91.

Randolph County Sheriff's Office deputies and other nearby agencies tried to find the suspect car.

Within minutes, a black car with a South Carolina plate was observed traveling in the center lane, and a North Carolina State Highway Patrol car was close behind.

Thomasville police also responded. Deputies then joined the troopers who initiated a traffic stop.

They were then arrested at the scene and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center. They are both being processed for extradition back to South Carolina.
