HIGH POINT, NC (WFMY) - Police arrested a High Point man on multiple drug and weapon-related charges Monday night after searching a home.
Jerry Douglas Jr., labeled a 'violent chronic offender' in a release from High Point police, resisted arrest at first, but eventually was taken into custody around 8:30 p.m.
Douglas Jr., 33, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession with The Intent to Sell and Deliver (PWISD) Schedule II (Cocaine)
- PWISD Schedule I (Heroin)
- PWISD Schedule VI (Marijuana)
- Felony Possession of Cocaine
- Felony Possession Heroin
- Felony Possession Marijuana
- Felony Maintaining Dwelling
- Felony Possession of a Stolen Gun
- Possession of Firearm by a Felon
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Police seized several weapons from a home on Madison Street, including:
- Ruger .357 revolver
- 20 GA. Shotgun
- Glock 19
- Walther PPK .380
- Smith & Wesson .32 revolver
- Smith & Wesson M7P 15-22 rifle
- American Tactical AR15 rifle
Douglas Jr. was notified of his Violent Crimes Task Force status on August 12, 2009. The status means police and state and federal prosecutors notify violent offenders that any future crimes they commit will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to include maximum prison time.
Douglas Jr. was confined to the Guilford County Jail under no bond.
