HIGH POINT, NC (WFMY) -- The High Point Rockers have announced the date of the franchise's first home game.
May 2, 2019 is when the first pitch will take place at BB&T Park.

The organization made the announcement at their BB&T Point Progress Party on Thursday.
The date was revealed as part of a "rocking out" ceremony, where a rocket chair, painted by Troutman Chair, was hoisted to the top of BB&T Point.
Fans chose the team name earlier in the season, and in the next month or so, fans will get the chance to vote on the name of the team mascot.
