HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point 911 says one of their dispatchers, Matthew Brown, is doing better after suffering a stroke on the job earlier this month.
The call center reported on January 6 that one of their telecommunicators realized he was having a stroke and immediately asked for help. The other dispatchers were able to get him help and get him to the hospital quickly while still handling their other dispatch duties.
"Because of their swift actions he got the medical attention that he needed in a very, very short amount of time and it probably saved his life," explained Supervisor Kyle Thaggard in a January 7th interview.
This week, High Point 911 posted that Matthew Brown had moved to inpatient rehab and had already completed one round of physical therapy.
They also shared a photo of Brown's dog Fiona visiting him at the hospital.
