GREENSBORO, N.C. — An emotional day at Page High School as they try to figure out how to keep going with one of their star football players still in the hospital. This has not been easy.
When speaking with the football coach and principal they were pretty emotional, because they say nobody thought we would see Sincere Davis going through something like this.
"No, I mean he is not a troubled kid, never been in trouble. He is one of the top student athletes in our school, and at the end of the day this is the last thing we expected to be sitting here talking about," said Jared Rolfes, the head football coach at Page High School.
Yet, here we are.
You can see the toll it is taking on Coach Jared Rolfes. According to social media posts its because Davis, Page High School star running back was shot this weekend and is in ICU.
School leaders tell us he is stable.
While most people know Davis because of the touchdowns he scores those who are closest to him say Davis is much more than football.
"He is the type of kid who gets along with anyone. So he gets along with any type of student that we have in our building he is their cheerleader as well. Checking on them. He has touched so many people and will continue to touch so many people in our school," said Eric Naglee, the Page High School Principal.
Students and staff have been making cards and giving blankets to the family.
Anything they're able to do to really show their support.
