HIGH POINT, N.C. — A former Guilford County pastor pleaded guilty to numerous offenses Friday relating to an incident with a 14-year-old back in March 2022.

Demiro Johnson, 37, was originally arrested in January 2023 and charged with four counts of statutory rape/sex offense with a teen under the age of 15. He ended up pleading guilty to one count of statutory rape and two counts of statutory sex offense of a teen under 15.

According to court documents, Johnson has been behind bars since last January, and he's written many letters to the clerk of courts since then asking for a bond motion to reduce his sentence.

The most recent letter, according to the report, was sent September 3. In it, Johnson wrote the judge asking for the court to consider reducing his bond and un-secure the reduced amount so he would be able to go to his residence in High Point.

The September 3 letter alleges Johnson would have registered at GTCC and was looking for a "second chance."

Johnson was sentenced to a minimum of nearly 35 years for his crimes.
