Guilford County Disaster Recovery Center Now Has New Hours

The temporary relief center which is located at 1203 Maple St., Greensboro was opened to give one-one help to survivors of the April 15 tornado.

GREENSBORO, NC (WFMY) -- The Guilford County disaster recovery center now has new hours of operation. The new hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and closed on Sundays.

The temporary relief center which is located at 1203 Maple St. in Greensboro, was opened to give one-one help to survivors of the April 15 tornado.

At the center, tornado survivors that have registered with FEMA can get help finishing their U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loan application.

Survivors are urged to register for disaster assistance with FEMA even if they already have insurance.

Although FEMA can’t duplicate insurance payments, underinsured applicants may receive help after their claims have been settled.

The deadline to register is July 9, 2018. Survivors can register online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362.

Applicants who use 711 or the Video Relay Service, can call 800-621-3362.

Those who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use TTY can call 800-462-7585.

Toll-free numbers are open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.
