GREENSBORO, N.C. — Do you have any formal wear just hanging around in your closet that could be put to better use?

Well, the Greensboro Youth Council is looking for your donations to help a teen's prom dreams come true.

Through Camille's Closet and Theo's Threads, teens will have the opportunity to look their best for special events without having to break the bank.

From now until March 1, the organization is collecting new and gently used clothes and accessories for the program across the county.

They will be donated to teens who otherwise couldn't afford an outfit.

Donation Guidelines

Items donated must have been purchased in 2018 or later and be free of stains, snags, rips, and tears, in good working condition, and include all accents such as beading, laces, buckles, and snaps.

The program is in special need of plus-sized dresses and gowns, and big and tall dress shirts and pants. Accessories, including shoes, purses, jewelry, and ties are also welcome.

If you'd like to donate any items, you can bring them to one of six places:

  • BackPack Beginnings, 3711 Alliance Dr.
  • Glenwood Recreation Center, 2010 Coliseum Blvd.
  • Griffin Recreation Center, 5301 Hilltop Rd.
  • Greensboro Cultural Center Suite 315, 200 N. Davie St.
  • Lewis Recreation Center, 3110 Forest Lawn Dr.
  • Lindley Recreation Center, 2907 Springwood Dr.
