20-year-old Greensboro woman dies in crash in Chapel Hill

Police said Mary Elizabeth Rotunda was a passenger in the vehicle.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police said a Greensboro woman died in a crash in Chapel Hill early Sunday morning. 

Chapel Hill police said the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Raleigh Road and W. Barbee Chapel Road. 

Police said the driver lost control and drove into a wooded area. WNCN reports that the crash killed a passenger, identified as 20-year-old Mary Elizabeth Rotunda, of Greensboro. 

Police said the driver and another passenger were also injured and treated. Both are expected to be okay. 

Chapel Hill police are investigating the crash.
