GREENSBORO, N.C. — Part of a busy Greensboro intersection is closed Wednesday due to a water main break.
Greensboro police said two southbound lanes and one turning lane of traffic are closed on Battleground Ave. between W. Northwood St. and Pembroke Rd.
The closure is expected to continue through midnight.
City officials said a car crashed into a fire hydrant Tuesday night, causing the 8-inch water main break.
Water service is expected to be restored by 9 p.m. or sooner, according to the city.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
