Greensboro honors veterans with wreath-laying ceremony

Wreaths Across Greensboro joined a national effort to remember those who served our country.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — This weekend, Greensboro gathered to honor and remember those who served our country.

Wreaths Across Greensboro, the local chapter of Wreaths Across America, joined a national effort to ensure no veteran is forgotten.

At the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, the group organized efforts to lay Christmas wreaths at the graves of more than 1,100 veterans.

Each year, the group aims to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the tradition.

The tradition of honoring veterans by laying wreaths at their final resting places has spread across the country, even to Arlington National Cemetery.
