Greensboro Science Center holding blood drive

The Greensboro Science Center is partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive April 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Masks are required.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — With someone needing blood every two seconds in the U.S., your donation makes a difference.

The Greensboro Science Center (GSC) announced they are partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the GSC's SAIL Center.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended to ensure there is a spot available to donate.

For those interested in donating blood, you can register HERE. Regular blood donations and Power Red donations will be collected during this event.

You must be at least 17 years old to donate and you will go through a short health screening to determine your eligibility. Masks are required.

"April is NC Science Festival Month, which is a statewide, month-long celebration of science. We decided to include a blood drive as an NC Science Festival event because it's important for organizations like the GSC to show their support for critical community needs, and to give city residents an opportunity to participate in this statewide event. We hope that first-time and repeat blood donors will be able to come out on April 19," Jessica Gouge, the GSC's Education Events Manager, shared.
