Power restored in Greensboro after Sunday night thunderstorms

Over 3K residents were without power following thunderstorms in Greensboro.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — UPDATE AS OF 6:02 a.m.: Power restored in the area.

Severe thunderstorms in the area has left thousands of North Carolinians without power.

The outages are scattered all over the Triad. The largest one left over 2,000 people without power with an estimated repair time of 5 a.m. Monday morning, according to Duke Energy. 

The large outage in Greensboro was caused by equipment going offline, according to Duke Energy.

  • Chatham - 1,500+
  • Davidson  - 42
  • Davie - 43
  • Forsyth - 271
  • Guilford - 3,300+
  • Orange - 3
  • Randolph - 1,300+
  • Rockingham - 261
  • Rowan - 370
  • Stokes - 16
  • Surry - 177
  • Wilkes - 2
  • Yadkin - 1
