GREENSBORO, N.C. —
UPDATE: The outage has been fixed, and power has been restored, according to the Duke Energy outage map.
UPDATE: As of late Monday night, the outage has been reduced to just over 440 people. Duke Energy said the outage was caused by an object coming into contact with power lines.
At least 1,000 people in Greensboro are without power on Monday, May 27 and it is unclear when it will be turned back on.
The outage spans from north of Westbury before ending on Harris Drive.
It's been hours since the outage was first reported at 1:21 p.m., according to Duke Energy, and the cause of the outage is still unknown.
Since then, the estimated repair time has shifted several times.
At first, the outage's repair time was 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28. However, it later showed 6 p.m. on Monday.
At the time of reporting, the Duke Energy website now says power will be out until 11:59 p.m. on Monday.
