Greensboro police headquarters closed until further notice for maintenance

Residents needing emergency service should continue to call 911 and 336-373-2222 in non-emergency situations.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department said its headquarters are closed until further notice for facility maintenance.

According to the GPD, the building's HVAC system isn't functioning properly, leaving it without air conditioning.

That said, some personnel are still working in the building to support "normal police operations." Other employees have been moves to other police locations.

Assistant Chief Chris Schultheis told WFMY News 2 that they hope to finish repairs by Monday, if not sooner.

Residents needing emergency service should continue to call 911 and 336-373-2222 in non-emergency situations.

The department asks residents needing service from Police Watch Operations to call 336-373-2496 and the records department can be reached at 336-373-2433.
