Greensboro Police Department sends ATVs, water truck to west NC's Hurricane Helene victims

Numerous officers from the department were also sent to the area to assist with recovery efforts.

Greensboro Police Department took ATVs to western NC to help crews get to remote areas of the mountains after Helene.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Officers from the Greensboro Police Department have returned home from rendering aid to Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina,

More than 30 offers and 17 firefighters were sent to the devastation in Asheville and surrounding areas. One detective called it a privilege to serve victims in that part of the state.

"It was important for us, because it's a part of our community. I grew up in North Carolina, and, you know, just a sense of duty, a sense of responsibility, to take care of our fellow residents," said Detective Jason Warren.
