Thousands without power in Lake Jeanette area of Greensboro: Duke Energy

Approximately 8,000 people were without power in the Lake Jeanette region Wednesday night.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Update (9:26 p.m.): A Duke Energy spokesperson said 3,300 customers had their power restored at 8:52 p.m. The spokesperson said the problem is around one of the substations in Lake Townsend.

According to the Duke Energy outage map, approximately 8,000 people in the Lake Jeanette/Northern Shores area of Greensboro are dealing with power outages.

A text sent out to customers in the area said the estimated restoration time is 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday night.

A few power outages were expected with a cold front bringing wind gusts to the Triad on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
