GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Fire Department is installing smoke alarms in the community as a part of the statewide "Smoke Alarm Saturday" campaign.
Greensboro Fire said this initiative aims to enhance fire safety and awareness throughout the community by ensuring that homes are equipped with working smoke alarms.
Members of the department will canvass the neighborhoods they serve and install the smoke alarms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The goal is to install around 200 smoke alarms.
Greensboro Fire said they encourage those in the community to welcome the firefighters into their homes and take advantage of this free service.
