WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem Police responded to a call on East 23rd Street in reference to a reported shooting right before 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

When officers arrived, they said they found two victims, both suffering from a gunshot wound.

One victim was transported to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. The second victim was treated on scene by EMS and her injury is minor.

The Winston-Salem Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation.

Investigators said the preliminary investigation shows that a car pulled up in front of the area where the two were shot. Both victims were outside and an unknown person began shooting at the two.
