GREENSBORO, N.C. — Inflation is slowly ticking back up. Overall it's down quite a lot from the 9.1 percent in June of 2022 to last month's 3.7 percent. But since June, prices have started to go back up. Economists say an increase in gas and rent prices is driving up inflation.
According to Zillow listings, the median rent price in Greensboro is currently $1,475. That's lower than the statewide average of $1,830. But it is still too much for some people to afford. Here's the good news: real estate experts expect rent prices to get better soon or at least not increase much more.
"This year is supposed to be a record number of available inventory hitting the market across the US. Hopefully, that'll ease up on some of the rising rents, especially by the end of this year," said Crystal Chen with rental finder website Zumper.
In the meantime, if you can't pay the higher rents, there are at least 7 programs in the Triad to help you.
