How to turn your dreams into reality: Monday Motivation

Self-Care Coach Reketta Brown gives us the blueprint to chasing our passions in this week's Monday Motivation

GREENSBORO, N.C. — We all have dreams and aspirations, but finding a way to turn our dreams into reality can sometimes be challenging.

Self-Care Coach Reketta Brown with Thrive Foundation gives us the blueprint in this week's Monday Motivation.

Brown said fear of failure prevents many people from chasing their dreams.

“Oftentimes people are afraid to fail, and they may not know all it entails to work towards that dream,” Brown said. “What does that dream look like for you? With that dream, who do you need to be a part of it? What do you need to take those steps to meet that dream?”

Brown said it’s important to break a dream down into smaller steps.

“Sometimes it can seem very overwhelming to go after your dream,” Brown said.  “Instead of saying I want to achieve this over the next year, maybe something like, I want to achieve this over the next 30 days, and you write out and take those extra steps to achieve that. Sometimes it may be overwhelming because it's something new and you must embrace what it is that you’re doing.”

She said it’s ok to take breaks.

“We put pressure on ourselves to achieve something within a certain timeframe or deadline, but it's ok to take breaks and just have fun with what you’re doing,” Brown explained.
