Go on a Valentine’s Day blind date with a book at the Greensboro Library

Greensboro’s public library is hosting a Valentine’s Day event where you can take a new type of book out for a spin.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Not everyone has a date for Valentine’s Day. Sixty-one percent of people are single right now, according to dating.com. They might want to check out a free event at the Greensboro Public Library on Wednesday night called Valentine Book Tasting. It's a mixture of speed dating and blind dates for books.

Starting at 6:30 at the Central Branch on Church Street you can speed date different genres of books. It works by going from table to table and trying out new types of novels. And you can even do blind dates of books too!

“The librarians here on the first floor have picked out some of our favorite books, and we talk about those books. We also have a table where the books are wrapped, and you can check out a blind book date. You don't know what kind of book it is. You just take the book and take a chance,” said librarian Ceilitia McNair.

There is also going to be free food and drinks. Again, that starts at the Greensboro public library downtown at 6:30 p.m. on Valentine’s night.
