GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Fitness really can be fun! Wesley Williams who is a performer and instructor with Suah African Dance Theatre proved that Tuesday on the Good Morning Show.
Williams taught WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain how to perform a West African Traditional Wedding Dance.
"It's a dance of seduction, but is fun and flirty. You just have fun with it" explained Williams.
In all West African dances, a drummer typically performs to control the beat.
It wasn't too long before the dance moves became a fitness routine and a whole lot of fun.
The cultural lesson has a featured part in the dance too.
"We always strive to teach and educate people who desire to learn more about West African culture through music and dance," said Williams.
You can learn the dances and have fun and get fit on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Williams is teaching a free class for the city of Greensboro's Fitness by the Fountain event.
"If you want a free class and get your sweat on, you can't lose," said Williams.
Fitness by the Fountain takes place every Monday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of September.
The classes are free so grab a bottle of water and head to Center City Park on North Elm Street in Greensboro to take part.
