LEXINGTON - Picture this, more than 160,000 barbecue lovers in one place chomping on some of the best barbecue in the world.

The 30th Annual Barbecue Festival in Uptown Lexington is on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Pit masters slow cook more than 3,000 pounds of pulled pork and chicken every year. And every year there are no leftovers. Besides the food there is great entertainment. On the main stage there's Darius Rucker and don't forget about Eric and the Chill Tones.

With all the fun to be had, we want to make sure you get there a lot easier.

The festival runs down a nine block stretch of Main Street and on the adjoining side streets between 4th Street and 5th Avenue.

There are private parking lots throughout the Uptown Lexington area where you can park. And get this -- the festival wants you to park in these. The lots are operated by community groups and most charge a daily fee to park. Those groups use the festival as a fundraiser. Usually they'll have a sign saying what organization you're supporting, but if they don't, don't be afraid to ask.

And here's your official warning: Do not park on side streets or alleys surrounding the festival. Vehicles parked illegally willbe towed!

If you don't want to be be bothered with finding a space right at the festival, they have shuttles.

They run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from two different locations.

1. Wal-Mart Super Center, Off Highway 8 (Cotton Grove Road) this one is $2 per Adult (Free for Children 12 & Under)

2. Or ride the trolley in from Childress Vineyards. It's $3 per Adult and $2 Children 12 & Under
