GREENSBORO, N.C. - Benders Tavern is holding it's 9th Annual Christmas Day Feast in Greensboro.
The tavern is offering a free traditional holiday meal for the public.
That includes the homeless, seniors, law enforcement, emergency personnel , and the shut-in.
The tavern is working to put together enough food to feed 5,000 people for the holiday season.
The Christmas dinner includes turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, and dessert.
Anna Freiberg is the lead organizer for the event.
Freiberg says the Christmas Day feast is a holiday tradition that her family started back in the 80's.
Dozens of volunteers will be on hand to serve and deliver meals at the restaurant.
The event is funded by Benders Tavern, Greensboro Regional Realtors Association, and generous donors throughout the community.
The holiday meal will be served at Benders Tavern on Christmas Day from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The tavern is located at 4517 West Market Street in Greensboro.
