HIGH POINT, N.C. — If you're looking for a spooky way to spend this week, there's a fun event going on Wednesday that also is your chance 2 Make An Impact in our community and help a good cause!
The Arc of High Point's Creative Arts Studio helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities express their artistic sides. Wednesday night they are having a big Day of the Dead party and art auction over at The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards.
“We provide all of the materials they want and need, and this is how we fund that through the art auction. It helps us make sure they have studio time.” Said Liz McKinnon, Arc’s Creative Arts Director. “A lot of times once they come out of school, there’s not a lot of opportunity available to them. They kind of get thrown out into the world and this is their opportunity to come and express themselves, come and have fun with friends meet new people. It’s one of those ways we try to create community.”
