iPhone users, you might be owed money from the real Apple settlement over family sharing | Here's how to collect...

Apple settled for $25 million and payments will start going out after a court hearing in April.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Apple is getting ready to pay out a massive $25 million lawsuit settlement, and part of that money could be yours. If you qualify for the class action, you could end up with probably around $30. How much you make depends on how many people sign up to get paid.

The lawsuit claimed that Apple misrepresented how its Family Sharing plan works. Apple denies wrongdoing but settled the suit. So anyone who was enrolled in a family sharing group and bought at least one app from June 21, 2015 to January 30, 2019 qualifies for the lawsuit.

A lot of people who qualified will have already received something in the mail telling them to register. Or you can go to the website for the class action lawsuit and click the button in the top right to fill out a form to see if you qualify. The deadline to sign up is March 1.

According to the class action webpage here's when payments will be made, "The Court will hold a hearing on April 2, 2024 to decide whether to grant final approval of the settlement. Class Payments will be distributed to Class Members after the Court grants final approval of the settlement and any objections are overruled with finality. The Court may also elect to move the final approval hearing to a different date or time in its sole discretion, without providing further notice to the Class. The date and time of the final approval hearing can be confirmed at www.PetersFamilySharingPlan.com."
