Is your Amazon package late? Here's how to get money back

2 Wants to Know checked the terms of service to find out.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A lot of us after Cyber Monday will be constantly be going to the front door to check and see if the package we ordered is finally here. While we're used to super fast shipping these days, there might be a problem for some Amazon orders.

Amazon workers in more than 20 countries are on strike right now. 2 Wants To Know ordered a package this weekend to test delivery times with the strike. It still came on time, but what happens if your package is late now because of the strike or for another reason any other time? Can you get a refund or discount?

According to Amazon's terms and services, if you ordered with a delivery guarantee, you can get a refund on any shipping fees associated with that order. BUT THERE'S A CATCH: Amazon writes, "the guarantee does not apply if we miss our promised delivery date because of an unforeseen circumstance outside our control, such as a strike, natural disaster or severe winter storm."

And what about if you have Amazon Prime and don't pay shipping fees? Users report that you used to be able to get a free month of Amazon prime, but that's not written anywhere we could find in the terms anymore.

But it never hurts to contact Amazon and ask. According to Refund Retriever, some customers have reported getting credits to their accounts when they asked nicely for a discount. To report a late delivery, go to the “Help” section on Amazon's website or app and submit a request.
