BURLINGTON, N.C. — A goldfish was rescued from a burning home in Burlington, according to fire crews.

Fire crews responded to a house fire on Preston Street just after 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

The first crew of firefighters arrived in just under four minutes from dispatch to find smoke coming from the house. Searches were conducted and crews confirmed that there was no one inside the house.

However, they did find a goldfish inside its aquarium and were able to save it from the home before putting the fire out.

There was approximately over $6,000 worth of damage made. None of the firefighters were injured.
