Shopping center resumes normal operations in Winston-Salem after gas leak, officials say

Fire officials said the gas leak has been mitigated and businesses that were affected were able to reopen.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Firefighters were on the scene of a gas leak at a shopping center in Winston-Salem Saturday.

The Winston-Salem Fire Department said 6 units were responding to Hanes Common Shopping Center due to a gas leak in the area.

Fire officials said the gas leak has been mitigated and businesses that were affected were able to reopen shortly before 3 p.m.
