GREENSBORO, N.C. — The City of Greensboro had a discharge of approximately 2,500 gallons of untreated wastewater from a sewer line on Bristol Road.

The discharge happened Tuesday for nearly 2 hours due to a pipe failure of an 8-inch sewer main. The untreated wastewater entered S. Buffalo Creek, which is a tributary of the Cape Fear River basin.

The line was repaired by installing a new piece of pipe to prevent further discharge and hydrants were opened to flush the nearby creek.
