GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced Thursday that the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) will serve as the host site for the ACC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships from 2017 to 2022.

"The Greensboro Aquatic Center is an outstanding facility for hosting the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships," said ACC commissioner John Swofford. "Our teams and schools had a terrific experience during previous championships at the GAC and we anticipate that would only continue based on the support from the many groups within Greensboro community. We appreciate the ongoing partnership with Greensboro and providing the highest quality of a championship experience for our student-athletes and programs."

As previously announced, the GAC will host the first ACC championship of the 2016 calendar year on Feb. 17-20, when it welcomes ACC Women's Swimming and Diving, as well as Men's Diving. The venue will also serve as home to the ACC Men's Swimming Championship Feb. 24-27.

"We are looking forward to the 2016 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships and then further strengthening our relationship with the conference by hosting this event annually through 2022," said GAC manager Susan Braman. "This announcement adds to what has already been an incredible year for the Greensboro Aquatic Center as we hosted the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving National Championships with NC State in March as well as the YMCA National Short Course Swimming Championships and the USA Diving Synchronized National Championships in April."

The GAC has previously hosted the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships in 2013 and 2014.

The 2014 ACC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships created an estimated economic impact of more $2.1 million and generated 4,000 hotel room nights for the Greensboro area.
