KING, N.C. — An abandoned vehicle was found burned in Winston-Salem overnight Friday, leading police to believe the vehicle's owner could have been a victim of a serious crime.
86-year-old Arzell Tuttle is missing and could have been the victim of an assault or kidnapping, according to a release from King police.
Forsyth County Emergency Communications got a report of a suspicious fire on Kentucky Avenue in Winston-Salem Friday night. They found a vehicle belonging to Tuttle which appeared to have been on fire. No one was inside the vehicle.
A family member told communications they couldn't find Tuttle, who lives in King.
King Police, along with a family member of Tuttle's, responded to Tuttle's residence on East King Street and found suspicious circumstances leading them to believe Tuttle was "likely assaulted and kidnapped or possibly worse."
King Police and Winston-Salem Police are now looking for Tuttle. A Silver Alert was issued.
Anyone with information about Tuttle or his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.
