WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Forsyth Tech Community College announced the launch of its athletics program on Nov. 28.
The college said they are on the hunt for an Athletics Director to fully shape the new program.
“Launching the athletics program at Forsyth Tech is not just about sports; it's about building community, fostering student engagement, and enhancing the overall college experience. This program is a testament to our commitment to providing diverse and dynamic opportunities for our students, both in and out of the classroom,” said Dr. LaShan Lovelace, Chief Officer of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging.
The college has not announced the sports offerings, but said they would align with "our students' passions and our core values, and utilizing survey data."
The college also said its intermural sports offerings would also get a boost.
The goal is to enroll the college in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for the 2025 fall or winter season.
