Detectives said Jones is currently the band director at Shepard Magnet Middle School in Durham, NC.
The investigation started after the sheriff's office was alerted to anewspaper article on April 18 in the student newspaper at NC Central University. The student who wrote it said she and a former Parkland teacher, who was also the band director, had engaged in a sexual relationship.
The reported offenses occurred between October 2007 and May of 2008.
A statement from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools said Jones was a music teacher at Parkland High School from August 2006 and resigned in November 2008./>
