Former Stokes Co. Deputy Arrested For Impersonating Officer In Domestic Violence Case

On July 26, deputies went to collect any items that belonged to the Sheriff's Office from Kevin Faircloth and confirm he resigned from his duties. Later that day, they were called back to his home for a domestic violence call.

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. -- A former Stokes County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested on several charges connected to a domestic violence incident earlier this week.

This all started Wednesday, July 25. Former Deputy Kevin Faircloth, 47, was arrested after a car accident in Walnut Cove. Troopers say he hit another vehicle on U.S. 311 and was arrested for Driving While Impaired, saying he was under the influence of drugs. He was also charged with Failure to Reduce Speed, Expired Registration and misdemeanor child abuse because there was a 6-year-old minor in the vehicle with him. No one was injured in the accident.

After that incident, the Stokes County Sheriff's Office says Faircloth talked with Sheriff Mike Marshall and resigned from his duties as deputy. He served with the Sheriff's Office for 18 years, mostly working special events.

The following day, July 26, deputies went to collect any items that belonged to the Sheriff's Office from Faircloth and confirm he resigned from his duties.

Later that day, they were called back to his home for a domestic violence call. Faircloth was arrested for Assault on a Female and a domestic violence order of protection was filed against him.

On Saturday, King Police say Faircloth falsely identified himself to King Police and to Stokes County Communications as an active deputy to try and get information about the domestic violence case and his victim. He was arrested for Impersonating A Law Enforcement Officer. King Police say he was released on a written promise to appear and was not being held in custody.

On Tuesday, law enforcement in Stokes County say there is another warrant out for Faircloth's arrest. Deputies say he violated the protective order by driving past the victim's home. He turned himself in to the Sheriff's Office Tuesday afternoon.
