FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Attorney General Josh Stein is taking Flowers Flooring to court.
Stein has filed a lawsuit against Flowers Flooring after the business allegedly defrauded customers by accepting payment for materials that were never delivered or floor installations that were never completed or even started in the first place.
“People work hard for their money, and home renovations are expensive,” said Attorney General Josh Stein. “I’m taking Flowers Flooring to court for failing to deliver on its promises so they can't take advantage of any more North Carolinians.”
Over 80 complaints have been filed against the now-closed Triad flooring business, according to the attorney general.
The attorney general said the company allegedly deceived customers by telling them the products were back-ordered by suppliers but still required customers to pay a deposit in advance. Then, according to Stein, Flowers Flooring would allegedly promise installations by a certain date but would fail to do so, and allegedly not provide refunds.
Flowers Flooring suddenly closed earlier in September 2023, leaving customers with poorly done floors or unfinished warranty fixes.
