DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two outbuildings behind a home were on fire in Thomasville around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, according to Battalion Chief Robby Brinkley.
An officer with Thomasville Police was reportedly patrolling the area of Julian Avenue and Main Street when he saw flames coming from East Guilford Street.
The fire happened on a property with two adjoining lots on Hobbs Avenue at the corner of East Guilford Street and Maple Avenue.
A two-story garage and an adjacent storage building were ablaze when law enforcement arrived.
The home itself did not sustain any fire damage, officers said.
Police found someone inside the home who did not belong there, and the person was being detained for questioning.
No one was hurt.
This is not the first time firefighters have been called to this location, according to police.
On Feb. 12, there was allegedly a fire inside one of the storage buildings that was quickly put out. Witnesses reported seeing four teenagers running from the area before firefighters arrived, police said.
On Feb. 16, police were called to the address in reference to an assault and vandalism. A man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.
Officials say the cause of the fire is being investigated.
