Asheville, NC -- The family of a man suffering from Alzheimer's disease continues to search for him nearly three weeks after he walked away from his nursing home in Asheville. Young Chang, 68, was last seen Nov. 6, when he walked into the Pisgah Valley Market, looked around and walked out. A dog team later found his scent at a nearby mobile home park. "There is a real possibility that someone gave him a ride from the care home to the store," Buncombe County Sheriff's Department detective Roger Watson said. "We would like to find out who gave him a ride or if someone saw him get in a car." Chang moved into Mount Pisgah Family Care Home on Nov. 3, after having just moved to the home from Atlanta, where his family lives. He is a native of Korea and speaks little English. Chang's son, Army Maj. Charles Chang, an Iraqi war veteran stationed in South Korea, is among the family members who remain in Asheville searching for his father. "Our family is staying here to look for him," he said. "The police and fire departments have done extensive searches for him and a lot of things do not connect," Charles Chang said.
