WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — The names of two Triad officers were engraved into the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial this week.
Trooper Samuel Bullard and Greensboro Officer Jared franks both died in the line of duty last year.
Both are now permanently honored in our nation's capital.

Officer Franks and Trooper Bullard were both just 24-years-old when they died last year.
Franks died on his way to investigate a robbery November 10th.
Bullard died in a fiery crash while chasing a suspect on May 21st in Surry County.
On Wednesday, thousands of law enforcement officers and families of fallen officers gathered on capitol hill for Peace Officers Memorial Day.
They included Olivia Bullard Trooper Bullard's sister and members of the Greensboro Police Department.
They spent the morning remembering the lives lost and the sacrifices they made.
Representative Virginia Foxx who serves Surry County in Congress honored Trooper Bullard on the house floor Tuesday.
She urges everyone to keep law enforcement top of mind every day.
"We have this tendency in our country to set aside one day out of the year to honor different people, but for these folks we really truly should honor them every day and thank them every day," she said.
Guilford County law enforcement will hold a memorial service Thursday May 16 honoring the 23 police officers who've died serving the county since 1913.
It starts at 10 a.m. at the Governmental Plaza.
