Staff and students will see more police at schools in Mebane Friday.

MEBANE, N.C. — Students and staff will see more police at schools in Mebane Friday.

The Mebane Police Department posted on it's Facebook page stating they're aware of a threat made against a local middle school on social media.

Police said state and local agencies are working to determine the validity of the threat and people involved.

As a result, there will be more police throughout the day.

Several districts in North Carolina have dealt with threats recently that were found to not be credible.

At last check, district leaders for Alamance-Burlington Schools have not made any changes to class operations.
