About 54% of workplaces don't offer any child care benefit, forcing working parents to stretch their paychecks to make ends meet. 

During the pandemic, many parents were able to stay home with their kids. This was really beneficial when day cares and other facilities were closed. But now, as more folks return to the office, child care costs are back in the picture.

New data from the U.S. Department of Labor shows the annual child care costs for just one kid can eat up about 15% of a family's income. CNN reports that more and more employers are giving their workers options, with some companies hiring in-house care providers, offering free after-school programs and even three extra days for emergencies.
